The work of the Chamber in the local community
Role as lobbyists
Over many years the Chamber has been proactively involved in local planning issues such as the expansion of Heathrow, Hillingdon House Farm, Warners, St Andrew’s Park at RAF Uxbridge, the Nestles site in Hayes, Uxbridge Shopping Centre, West London Film Studios, and Guild Living.
The Chamber is also a member of the Local Strategic Partnership which is made up of key partners in the Borough including Heathrow, Brunel University London, Uxbridge College (HCUC), the Metropolitan Police and Hillingdon Council and has good working relationships with other London Chambers.and therefore voices business issues to the Council and learns from other key partners which can, in turn, support local businesses.
Supporting local community initiatives
Support is given to Brunel and HCUC not only with regard to their learners but in relation to programmes which support local micro business and SMEs. HCC has also provided work experience and projects for students.
HCC Committee members volunteer for judging panels for both business and young enterprise awards and regularly judge the WLB Awards.
The Chamber has continued to support and advise businesses throughout the COVID 19 emergency: signposting help and assistance and lobbying on behalf of our members to make sure the voice of Hillingdon business is heard.

HCC works with many partners within Hillingdon such as Heathrow Airport, London Borough of Hillingdon, Brunel University London, HCUC, Moore Kingston Smith, Ward Williams, Metro Bank and The Clubhouse at Uxbridge Business Park by providing regular networking opportunities for businesses and seminars/training.
